Hi I'm Rachael Flanery!
Fond memories of a fun (and warm) family trip to the big island of Hawaii!

I’m Rachael Flanery one of the special education resource teachers here at Northrop. I am thrilled to be a part of the Northrop staff since 2013. The students, parents, teachers, and staff all make this an amazing place to be!

A little bit about me, I have my BA from the University of Iowa (Iowa City is one of the best places on earth!...just ask Mr. Nannemann). I have my Masters in Fine Arts from UCLA and obtained my teaching license and completed graduate coursework in special education at St. Mary’s University here in Minneapolis. Since becoming a mamma, I’ve stopped going to grad school as a hobby and now spend my time away from Northrop walking around Lake Nokomis with my gigantic double stroller or having play dates at the Riverview Coffee shop. I'm active in the Twin Cities theater community and like to bake and craft even though I'm not very good at either.

I want every student to feel good about coming to school and take pride in their progress. I believe all students want to do well and if given the tools and trust will succeed at their own pace.

I’m at school Mon-Fri and check in on my email way more than I should on the weekends. Please don’t hesitate contacting me with any questions or concerns. I’m looking forward to a great year being your partner in your child’s school success!
